Barney Frank Goes Out Swinging

Mention 9/11 and nearly everyone remembers, though tries to forget, what day brought. But mention 9/11/2003 and people respond with, “Huh, what?” On that day, (back page) headlines read the following of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in Congressional attempts to regulate their lending practices: Barney Frank – “I worry, frankly, that there’s a tension here. The more people, in my judgment, exaggerate a threat of safety and soundness, the more people conjure up the possibility of serious financial losses to the Treasury, which I do not see. I think we see entities that are fundamentally sound financially and withstand some of the disaster scenarios… Maxine Waters – “Secretary Martinez, if it ain’t broke, why do you want to fix it? Have the GSE’s [government-sponsored enterprises Fannie and Freddie] ever missed their housing goals?” She went on to say days later, “…I have sat through nearly a dozen hearings where, frankly, we were trying to fix something that wasn’t broke. Housing is the economic engine of our economy, and in no community does this engine need to work more than in mine.”

Four years later, the fruits of the efforts given by both Frank and Waters were harvested. The affordable housing programs driven by a spread the wealth focused committee went unregulated until the dam burst wide open and the housing market, along with a Congressional directed economy, went bust. With it went world markets, banks, retirement accounts, small and large business, and the American Dream. Before the ‘affordable housing’ efforts of an Occupy-minded Congressional committee, the American Dream was earned through hard work and planning. The ‘spread the wealthers’ changed the accomplishment of ‘earned through hard work’ to the entitlement of ‘given by way of legislation.’

The housing market and the free market in general were given a boost by the resignation of Mr. Barney Frank. But the celebration is short-lived… Taking his seat is none other than Maxine Waters. She, along with the Occupy orchestrating Obama, can link arms with the likes of Pelosi and continue to demand that affordable housing, and the wealth of those who earned their way to the American Dream be given to those who claim a right to it simply by saying so. Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, and Chris Dodd promised affordable housing. Looking at the housing market today, how have they done?

With Obama demanding that Europe solves their debt issues, he bows out of Super-committee negotiations and instead promotes his additional half a trillion dollars in stimulus spending on his re-election campaign swing. If the consequences weren’t so tragic, his policies  of Commander in Chief could be considered at ridiculous as that of Libya serving on the Human Rights Council of the U.N. At the conclusion of his third year in office, he has yet to put forth an approved budget and has orchestrated what is certainly to be the second credit downgrade in just a year. His solution? Create class warfare, spend even more money and campaign for re-election. For those who initially believed in his cloak of Hope & Change, their vote can be understood. But anyone who could cast another vote in his direction need seriously evaluate who Barack Obama is and what his objectives are. Under his watch, we’re divided, broke, hated, and threatened like never before. We knew who he was four years ago. His actions and our lost America speaks for itself.

With only 14,000 troops left in Iraq, the bombings are increasing. Pakistan is sacrificing their own to create the atmosphere to close supply lines for our troops in Afghanistan. They have hidden the likes of bin Laden and shuffled their nukes. Now, Obama announces 40,000 troops withdrawn from Afghanistan before the election this time next year. Karzai is negotiating with the re-energized Taliban, Pakistan is coming together as one (Islamic), Morocco & Tunisia have new Islamic leaders, Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood is looking good in the parliament elections, Syria& Yemen are fully engulfed in civil war, and Iran continues to give the world the finger.

It would seem that ‘Never Forget’ has been forgotten – twice. Maxine Waters is standing in the wait to fill the shoes of the market meltdown orchestrator – Frank. Our bases and supply lines needed to lay a heavy stick on Iran, the true terror state, have been compromised by a man bent only on retaining his seat in the Oval office. The once United States of America now stand to the left and to the right pointing at one another through the middle – a place where the President, Barack Hussein Obama, never took a stand.
