As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people – When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies – when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her – I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it – you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate – their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army –

“I have not made trouble for Israel,” Elijah replied. “But you and your father’s family have. You have abandoned the Lord’s commandments and have followed the Baals. Now summon the people from all over Israel to meet me on Mount Carmel. And bring the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.” 1Ki 18:18-19 “When he makes all the altar stones to be like chalk stones crushed to pieces, no Asherah poles or incense altars will be left standing.” Isaiah 27:9

Signs, signs, everywhere there’s signs; messin’ up the scenery, breakin’ my mind. Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign? And the sign says, “Everybody welcome, come in, kneel down and pray.” But then they passed around a plate at the end of it all and I didn’t have a penny to pay. So I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign. I said, “Thank you Lord for thinking ’bout me, I’m alive and doing fine.” by The Five Man Electrical Band

Signs, signs, everywhere there’s signs. There’s earthquakes and cholera in Haiti, something like a mountain all ablaze and thrown into the sea with the Deepwater Horizon, an earthquake and tsunami in Japan, a meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, famine in Africa, and earthquakes in various places. There are wars and rumors of wars. Nation is against nation and kingdom against kingdom. The world is filled with hate and threats of extermination. Tho gospel of Christ is taught and the teachers are hated and called insane. Even now, when we can see the shrine of the devil standing on the holy ground of Jerusalem, those who have eyes and can see are deemed intolerant. The signs are messin’ up the scenery; breakin’ my mind. The politically correct say, “Do this, don’t do that. Can’t you read the signs?”

On March 11th, the gates of heaven opened up and flooded the earth. The resulting earthquake and tsunami unlocked the gates of hell and unleashed radioactive torment upon the Japanese people. After a hundred and fifty days passed (Ge 7:24), construction began on a new roof to keep the flood waters out and reduce the level of the flood water within the reactor buildings. The waters that created so much havoc were reported just days ago to have dried up sufficiently to begin a decades-long cleanup.

If the end comes in a manner consistent with the Bible, then it comes like a flood; just as it was in the days of Noah (Mt 24:37). In Noah’s day, the flood came on the 47th day of his new year. That would make his first day January 24th on the Gregorian calender. On the first day of the tenth month, October 21st, the water had receded sufficiently to show the tops of the mountains. On that day Barack Obama announced the removal of U.S. troops from Iraq. Since that day, troops have amassed on the Turkey-Syria border, the Jordan-Syria border, the Lebanon-Israeli border, the West Bank-Syria border, around the Gaza strip and within the waters of the Mediterranean. It has become more and more evident that a much larger war is brewing. With it comes the destruction of Damascus and the invasion of Israel. Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people. And the mountains of Jerusalem are rising from the water.

And the sign said, “Everybody welcome. Come in, kneel down and pray.”

Rumors abound as to the consequences of a now defenseless Iraq. Their airspace is open and can be freely traveled by warplanes. With Iraq’s hatefully divided government pointing fingers at one another, civil unrest and bloodshed is inevitable. The red-line of Iran’s nuclear finesse is beginning to glow. Their technological proliferating ally North Korea is wobbling like a slowing and unbalanced top with it’s leadership and its nukes in the hands of a twenty-something year-old kid.

If there ever was a time for everybody to kneel down and pray, this would be it. But who’s going to answer? What god is it that lurks amongst the Asherah poles? Where can be found the mother of heaven? What says the little wooden fat man? “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” – 1Ki 18:21 Islam builds their altars with Asherah poles in high places and with a sacred stone built into the Kaaba, fastened by a silver frame. The cornerstone of Islam is literally a piece of rock. Islam, the invented religion, came about 1,800 years after Moses wrote, “Do not set up any wooden Asherah pole beside the altar you build to the Lord your God, and do not erect a sacred stone, for these the Lord God hates.”

“If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” How is it then that the Romans follow her? It is easily understood how Rome dropped the second Commandment concerning created images. After all, the emperor Constantine would have had to destroy all of Rome’s figurative architecture. But how has it come to pass that tradition has raised 1.2 billion people rest their hope and prayer in an un-resurrected dead woman?

“But then they passed around a plate at the end of it all and I didn’t have a penny to pay.”

Like the Muslims and their Asherahs, the Romans and their incense altars; the Baals worshipped their figure as God also. Baal was just as real to them as Allah is to Muslims and as Mary is to the Romans. But none of them are God. The proof lays within that tiny remnant of land and people – Israel. And today, they are surrounded by armies.

“So I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign. I said, “Thank you Lord for thinking ’bout me, I’m alive and doing fine.”
